More About Naomi Rose

Naomi Rose is the creator of Writing from the Deeper Self, a unique approach to creating that starts with felt inner experience and only afterwards makes its way into words. 

Born into a family of writers and artists, she was exposed to the creative life at a young age, and can still remember the absolute joy of watching her father make puppets out of sawdust and paste at the kitchen table, as the light streamed in through the window. Such intimate access to the creative process kept alive in her an ongoing question about how “something” could be made out of “nothing.” Later, when this light seemed buried under more adult concerns, she went through a period of painful writer’s block that did not yield to books about writing technique, but did ultimately lead her to study the inner healing process.  As a result, she came to realize that finding one’s creative soul-spark is the same thing as reconnecting with one’s essential nature. As her “writer’s block” dissolved by means of her inner psychological and spiritual work, she understood that many people suffered from what she had experienced. She thus developed Writing from the Deeper Self to help people find their true voice through the deep-writing process.

An award-winning book developer in Oakland, California, Naomi helps people who long to write a book do so from the inside out.  To this work, she brings not only her personal background but also her professional expertise and craft as a published writer with many articles and books to her credit, from her over 30 years in the publications field as an editor, writer, illustrator, developer, etc. As a book developer, she also brings to her clients an intimate understanding of what interferes with the soul’s true expression and how to invite it into one’s life in order to live fully and authentically.  She is also an accomplished singer and musician, as well as a visual artist—a triad of talents that has proven to her that, whatever form a creative expression takes, the process of inviting it from the soul out is essentially the same.  Among her books on creativity is Starting Your Book: A Guide to Navigating the Blank Page by Attending to What’s Inside You.
